France has reached the quarterfinals of the FIFA World Cup after beating Nigeria 2-nil this morning.
Goals from Paul Pogba and an own goal from Nigeria’s Joseph Yobo ensured France reached the top eight.
The 1998 World Cup champions will play the winners of the match between Algeria and Germany in the quarterfinals.
Algeria will take on Germany in the next hour.
Other confirmed quarterfinal matches so far, Brazil will take on Colombia at 4am this Saturday followed by Netherlands against Costa Rica at 8am.
