Four people are now in police custody after a number of alleged break-ins, a road accident and big brawls that have been occurring in Nabua since Saturday night.
Fijivillage has received information that one of the suspects in custody allegedly ran over a 14-year-old boy from Sukanaivalu Road.
It is alleged that the suspect had gone out along Sukanaivalu Road with about 20 boys from Mead Road Housing, looking for people who stole two of his German Shepherd puppies.
Some of the boys from Sukanaivalu Road were blamed for stealing and selling the puppies.
It is alleged that the boys from Mead Road Housing went inside a number of houses in Sukanaivalu Road looking for the people who had stolen the dogs, and there are claims that a number of people were also bashed up.
A few brawls have been taking place in the area over the last few days.
Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro says they are gathering information regarding all these alleged incidents.
She says investigators are trying to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident and a team of officers will revisit the scene to talk to residents to avoid being caught on the wrong side of the law and to report matters to Police.
A community policing team is also involved to ensure that there are no further brawls connected to these alleged incidents.
Police Chief of Operations ACP Rusiate Tudravu said this morning that one of the youths in Nabua was hit by a car driven by a tenant of Mead Road Housing in Nabua.
This resulted in a brawl involving the youth from Nabua Mead Road Housing and Nabua village.
One of the suspects who allegedly fled the scene was caught at a house in Rewa Street last night.
Officers surrounded the house at about 8pm last night and took the man into custody.
