Four provinces from the total 14 provinces in the country have shown their support to the People's Charter which the interim government believes will take Fiji forward.

Cakaudrove, Macuata, Serua and Lau provincial council members have made up their minds that in order to take the country back to an elected democratic government, the People's Charter will be the best way to accomplish this.

Provincial Council members of these four provinces will now educate the grassroots people in their provinced on what is in the charter to give them a better understanding.

Meanwhile, the province of Naitasiri, Lomaiviti and Rewa have rejected the proposed People's Charter based on the grounds that it wants to create a non racial Fiji.

Two of the country’s biggest provinces, Tailevu and Ba, are split on whether they support or are against the charter as some members have shown their support while other members are against it.

The province of Bua, Namosi and Nadroga/Navosa are yet to give their views on the People’s Charter.
