“It is about matching strength with strength”.
Those were the words of Flying Fijians coach Samu Domoni Junior in naming one of his powerful line up to take on the Springboks tomorrow.
The Fiji coaching staff have opted for a strengthened forward pack which is designed to cope with the powerful Springboks eight and Domoni believes they have worked hard this week, particularly on countering South Africa’s rolling mauls and their presence in the rucks.
Domoni said that they have identified some areas where they can maximize their performance to counter and defuse the South African tactic.
Domoni has kept an unchanged back-line but adjusted his forward pack, naming Sakiusa Matadigo at No: 8 in place of Netani Talei and Akapusi Qera on the open-side flank ahead of Malakai Ravulo.
Sunia Koto will start at hooker in place of Viliame Veikoso.
There are four further changes to the Fiji reserves.
Talemaitoga Tuapati takes Koto’s place on a bench to which Talei is added.
Sisa Koyamaibole, Ravaia Fatiaki and veteran fly half Nicky Little are also named among the substitutes.
