Preparations are continuing for the Pacific Islands Forum Special Meeting scheduled for next Tuesday in Port Moresby.

This has been confirmed by the Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat who said they are aware of the Interim Prime Minister's letter to the Forum Chair Toke Talagi stating his inability to attend the meeting and his request for a deferment.

The Secretariat said they are also in discussions with the Forum Chair and Niue Premier, Toke Talagi and all other Forum members, including PNG as host, on arrangements, including the question of Fiji's participation.

The Interim Prime Minister Commodore Frank Bainimarama yesterday pulled out of the Forum meeting asking members for their understanding of Fiji's situation with regards to the aftermath of the floods.
