Inconsistent record taking which led to the closing of cases may now become a thing of the past for the Fiji Police Force.

Three forms have been designed by Fiji Police Force for officers to keep an update of cases and complaints received by the public at large.

The information in these forms will include cases which are under investigation, closed due to lack of evidence or when the offender is unknown and the third is once the perpetrator is arrested and taken to court.

Regional Crime Officer Eastern ASP Aca White said one copy of this form goes to the complainant and the second copy is kept in the investigation file.

White said the most important thing is to let the complainant know the result of the investigation.

He had also urged the officers to fill the forms only if they have the accurate information on the case and let the complainant know the progress on their cases.
