A former resident and a top heart surgeon in Gold Coast, Australia, Dr Vijay Kapadia believes other former residents should assist in Fiji's progress.
Dr Kapadia assisted in the search for a Cardiac Catheter Laboratory machine for the CWM hospital which was launched yesterday.
Kapadia added former Fiji residents have vast experience and training to help the country.
Dr Kapadia, who was brought up and studied in Suva in the early 1970s, said he will continue to assist in improving health facilities in the country.
The Cath Lab machine which was brought in to the country free of charge is a relief to heart patients as poor people will be provided free service.
