Friends and former residents of Fiji now living in the United States plan to hold discussions on the proposed People's Charter for Peace and Progress.

This has been confirmed by the National Council for Building a Better Fiji Secretariat.

In a statement, it was revealed that Dr Narayan Raju, the Honorary Consul of Fiji, San Francisco, will spearhead the move.

According to the release, Raju has indicated he is looking at inviting community leaders and friends of Fiji living in the US, for an informal discussion on the national initiative.

Raju is reported as saying that he thinks this is the best way to get the people in the US involved, as many who have Fiji at heart would like to help in the process of taking Fiji forward.

The meeting is expected to be held sometime in April.
