Former boyfriend found guilty of murder
High Court Judge, Justice Salesi Temo found the first accused, Anesh Ram guilty of murder.
In his ruling this morning, Justice Temo said he had reviewed the evidence and accepted that Ram had prior knowledge that if he throttled or strangled the victim, she would die and he went ahead with the action knowing the consequences.
Meanwhile, Justice Temo acquitted the other five men of the charge of rape.
The five were earlier acquitted of the murder charge.
The five Keshwa Nand, Vikash Chand, Sat Dewan Nair, Binesh Kumar and Anil Singh appeared before High Court Judge, Justice Salesi Temo who informed them that he agreed with the assessors in that the prosecution did not prove beyond reasonable doubt the guilt of the five.
The matter has been set for submissions on sentencing tomorrow.
Ram has been remanded in custody until sentencing tomorrow.
