Former Wallabies captain David Pocock has been charged after chaining himself to machinery in a long‑running Australian coal mine protest.

The injured flanker was chained to a digger with several others in north‑west New South Wales yesterday as about 30 protesters joined a blockade at the Maules Creek Mine.

After 10 hours, Pocock and a farmer were arrested by police.

They were all granted conditional bail.

Pocock is due to appear in court on January 14th and the other six would face the same court on January 27th.
