Police are expected to question a former senator and Member of Parliament soon in relation to the alleged plot to kill the Interim Prime Minister, two interim ministers and two senior military officers.
The former MP and unionist who is from the western division will be questioned in relation to the alleged conspiracy to murder the five senior officials and allegedly inciting mutiny.
It is alleged that the former senator played a major role in the plot and will be arrested by police soon.
Meanwhile, some other people who are alleged to have been involved in the plot are expected to be arrested soon.
Businessman Ballu Khan remains in hospital and he is expected to be released from hospital by tomorrow morning. He will then questioned by police.
