The case regarding former Post Fiji Board members, Mahendra Patel, Peni Mau and Dhindrendra Pratap, has been adjourned until March as one of the accused is out of the country.

High Court judge Justice Daniel Goundar heard that one of the accused, Dhirendra Pratap, was out of the country for medical reasons.

As a result, Justice Goundar has opted to proceed with a mention that will see the three take a plea as well.

The trio has been charged by FICAC for extortion and abuse of office.

It is alleged that while Patel was the chairman of the Post Fiji Board, he approved the purchase of an exterior Seiko watch from Prouds, a company he owned and failed to disclose that he had interest in, while Mau who was the Managing Director had approved payment for reward of duty to Pratap who was the General Manager Finance at the time.

Justice Goundar adjourned the matter adjourned to the 25th of March for mention.
