The former Permanent Secretary for Local Government, Urban development, Environment and Housing Ram Chandar has been re-instated.
Chairman of the Public Service Commission Josefa Serulagilagi said Chandra has been posted to the Commission as Permanent Secretary with special duties and will assist in the implementation of organisational review study of the civil service and facilitation the rationalization of acting appointments as well project throughout the Civil Service.
Serulagilagi higlighted that Chandar will be working closely with the Permanent Secretary for the PSC on both the assignments and will also report to the Chairman.
Chandar had been reprimanded for having breached the Public Service Code of Conduct.
