Navua police are questioning a former police support officer for allegedly impersonating a government official and conning a number of people.

It is alleged that the former police support officer bought a number of Billy goats, ducks, chickens and other items from a number of farmers from Navua amounting to thousands of dollars and telling the farmers that he worked for the Finance Ministry.

He then allegedly gave bank slips to the farmers saying that it was a cheque.

The matter was reported to police after some of the farmers took the bank slip to the banks to cash it.

He with two others is expected to be charged soon.
