Former Minister for Local Government, Jone Navakamocea today appeared in the Suva Magistrates Court charged with one count of dangerous driving and one count of driving under the influence of alcohol.
Navakamocea appeared before Magistrate Premil Ratnayake however his plea will be taken in his next court appearance later this month.
The Court heard that on the 27th of February of this year, Navakamocea is alleged to have driven his vehicle along Ratu Mara Road in Nabua in Suva, in a dangerous manner and when stopped by Police at a check point, he was allegedly found to have an excessive amount of alcohol in his blood.
The case is adjourned to March 24th
