A former Magistrate serving in the Central/Eastern Division was taken into custody by the Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption late yesterday afternoon.

Chief Investigator, Inspector Isireli Tagicaki has confirmed that the former Magistrate has been charged with alleged corrupt practices and will appear in court today.

Inspector Tagicaki has refused to reveal the charges saying that it will only be revealed in court however, he did say that the charges are in relation to corruption.

The former Magistrate was locked up in the cell overnight at the Central Police Station following his arrest.
