Former Magistrate of Central and Eastern Division, Sunil Kumar today appeared in Nausori Magistrates court charged with seven counts of perverting the cause of justice.
Kumar did not plead guilty to the charges and has been released on $1000 bail to appear on a later date.
He has been ordered to surrender his passport to police and not to interfere with the witnesses.
Kumar was locked up in the cell overnight at the Central Police Station following his arrest.
