A former Lecturer of the Fiji School of Medicine has been charged in relations to the alleged leaking of examination papers.

The doctor has been charged with seven counts of leaking examination papers to students.

Police Spokeswoman, Ema Mua has confirmed that charges were laid yesterday by the DPP's office and the file was given to police.

It is alleged that the Lecturer gave pharmacology, oral pathology, oral medicine, general dental practice, community dentistry and bio-statistics examination papers to students before examination.

The matter came to light when it was found that some weaker students were scored higher marks when compared to other students.

He has been summoned to appear in the Suva Magistrates court on July 8th.
