A former senior official of a government Ministry, Christopher Singh appeared before Magistrate Aminiasi Katonivualiku charged with four counts of official corruption.

No plea was taken today however Singh's lawyer Memboob Raza asked the court to adjourn the case to Monday afternoon as no disclosures were prepared today. Raza told the court that he does not want to pre-empt the defense position.

Meanwhile DPP Counsel, Nancy Tikoisuva was concerned about the information they received that the accused and his family were to travel to the United States tonight.

Defense Counsel, Raza told the court that his client and his family were interviewed in February this year, and only yesterday he was informed about the court order so he cannot travel. Raza asked the court to consider the fact that his client will lose his PR status if he is not in the US by the 10th of this month.

Singh was given fresh bail of $1000 and to appear in Court at 2.15pm on Monday.
