A family of Naikabula, Lautoka is grieving the loss of their eldest son 28 year old Ravi Chandra who died in a railway crossing crash near Moranbah a town in Queensland, Australia last Thursday.
Father, Rameshwar Chandra told Fijivillage, his son will always be remembered by his loved ones as he was very kind hearted and helpful. He moved to Australia three years ago.
Chandra, a mine contractor, died when the vehicle he was driving and a coal train collided at a level crossing near Goonyella Riverside Mine, north-west of Moranbah.
The passenger, with head and chest injuries, is in a critical condition at Townsville.
Ravi has left behind his wife, Komil Chandra, parents, a brother and two sisters.
Preparations are underway to bring his body to Fiji by Friday for the funeral.
