Former FNPF members can now re-enter
This is one of the changes announced by the FNPF to it's partial withdrawal policy whereby a member can re-enter, despite having fully withdrawn all their funds at the age of 55.
The FNPF said this applies also to those above the age of 55 who have found re-employment.
Another change has also been announced to the Payment of Special Death Benefit for Funeral Expenses whereby it allows the partial payment of up to a maximum of $2,000 from the SDB of the deceased members account for his/her funeral.
The FNPF clarified that the $2,000 SDB payment will be made from the member's account for his own funeral expenses, and he or she needs to nominate a person to administer these funds if/when he/she dies.
The FNPF further clarified that funeral assistance for members who want to assist the funeral expenses of a non-member or a member that does not qualify for the Special Death Benefit will also be given.
However the amount that will be paid to the member to assist the funeral expenses will be $1,000.
The FNPF has stressed that it can be either the SDB payment or the funeral assistance, but not both.
