Former FIFA referee badge holder Dhiren Kewal has for the first time cleared the air after the assault on him by some Suva soccer players, officials and fans.
Kewal who officiated the BOG semifinal match between Suva and Labasa, was assaulted after the match when he awarded the last minute penalty to Labasa and made some decisions that was not accepted by Suva soccer officials and players.
Speaking to Fijivillage, Kewal said he has not favoured any team since taking up refereeing.
Kewal said he made the right decision by awarding the penalty to Labasa, which saw them qualify for the final.
Kewal went onto say that decision of giving Suva defender Maleli Nakalavo a red card, was based on what his linesman had told him.
