A 25 year old former employee of Fiji Independent Commission against Corruption today pleaded guilty to three counts of theft, falsification of documents and abuse of office at the Suva Magistrates Court.

Marica Rokotavaga's lawyer Nitesh Sharma filed written submissions for mitigation while FICAC lawyer Ragitha Siriwansa asked time to file a response to the submission and sentencing.

It is alleged that on 13th March this year, Rokotavaga who was employed as an accounts officer returned from maternity leave and under the pretext of picking up her certificate, managed to locate a cheque book and without anyone's knowledge allegedly filled the cheque book.

It is also alleged that she forged the signatures of two other cheque signatories and obtained money for her personal use.

Rokotavaga will be sentenced on 15th June.
