Former Chief Executive Officer for Fijian Holdings, Sitiveni Weleilakeba appeared in court this week.

Weleilakeba has been charged by FICAC with one count of Conspiracy to Effect and Unlawful Purpose, one count of Forgery and one count of Uttering Forged Document.

His lawyer Caesar Lateef asked the Court to defer the plea after the matter had been transferred to the High Court. FICAC Prosecutor Aca Rayawa told the court he would be applying for consolidating this case with former Prime Minister, Laisenia Qarase's case.

Rayawa said he would be filing a notice of motion and affidavit to have both matters called for the application for consolidation and the filing of amended information to include Weleilakeba and Qarase in the same information.

The matter has been adjourned to the 8th of September, 2009.
