Labasa Police have taken a former Police Constable into custody who allegedly forged a Senior Police Officer's cheque and tried to cash it in Labasa yesterday.

Labasa Police have confirmed the former Police Constable was arrested yesterday afternoon after bank officials suspected that the signature on the cheque did not match with their records.

The Constable who was a driver for the Police Special Branch was suspended earlier this year due to some alleged misconduct at work.

The former Constable is expected to be questioned this morning and charges are expected to be laid later today.
