Former CRW soldiers wanted to kill PM-State Witness
Sevuloni Keidreli was working as a carpenter in September, 2007 when Lance Corporal Peniasi Kuli paid him a visit, seeking his help to uncover a plan laid out by former CRW soldiers: Feoko Gadekibau, Sivaniolo Naulago and Barbados Mills.
Keidreli said that Kuli told him that he needed help to get information on the plan and get recover the weapons that went missing from Parliament in 2000.
He agreed to assist him as Kuli is his cousin.
He then described how they made their way to Nadi for their first meeting that was held at Naulago's farm in Sabeto.
Keidreli said Naulago briefed them on their plan on how to weaken the Army and that Mills said to him that their plan was to kill the Army Commander and that he did not like the Army Commander because of what he had done to them in 2000.
Keidreli said a week later they met the three accused persons again in a meeting at the Fijian Teachers Association Building.
He said Naulago led the meeting and told them that they would provide all the weapons.
Keidreli told the Court that Naulago said that Ballu Khan would provide the weapons and that they had asked for 30 weapons. Keidreli said that after the meeting, he was given $15 by Kuli as Naulago had already given them money for their fare.
He then went on to describe the third meeting which he said was held at a two storey building in Nausori, close to Ratu Cakobau Park.
Kedreli said that at the meeting, they were told that their task would be to take over the 3FIR Unit based at Queen Elizabeth Barracks in Nabua and that they need to prepare themselves and also stressed the need for them to meet every week.
The eight accused persons charged with conspiracy to murder Commodore Bainimarama, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum and Mahendra Chaudhry are Naitasiri high chief, Ratu Inoke Takiveikata, Fe-oko Gadekibau, Barbados Mills, Sivaniolo Naulago, Metuisela Mua, Eparama Waqatairewa, Kaminieli Vosavere and Pauliasi Ramulo.
The case continues this hour.
