Former Air Fiji employers who were left unemployed after the company ceased operations earlier this year, breathed a sigh of relief when they were paid half of wages owed to them last week.
Human Resource Manager, Sada Goundar said this was only one weeks wages and it's not clear when rest will be paid.
Transport Workers Union General Secretary Kamlesh Kumar said workers were paid one week of two weeks wages owed, as the workers had worked from mid to end of April.
Air Fiji Board is yet to release a statement on the future of the company.
Meanwhile, the Consumer Council of Fiji is concerned for those customers of Air Fiji who bought air tickets for their travel, but the company did not provide service. CEO Premila Kumar said they have received six complaints against the Company with a monetary value amounting to $3651.90 cents.
She adds customers have the right to receive a full refund, but the airline company is silent on this.
