Former AFL CEO’s case called in
FICAC Prosecutor Madhawa Tennakoon informed the court that the matter had been transferred to the High Court after an application from the Prosecution.
However Prosecution made an application to have the filing of the disclosure and information deferred to a future date, as submissions made by the Defence in another similar case, where Tuisolia's wife is charged for the very same offences, being that she is also a director to the same company, is presently under FICAC's consideration.
Defense counsel Devanesh Sharma confirmed the prosecutions statements and asked to have the matter adjourned for two weeks to give sufficient time for the Prosecution to consider the submissions made by the Defense in the connected matter.
Tusolia has been charged with eight counts of allegedly operating a restaurant business without a license.
It is alleged that Tuisolia was operating his restaurant, Hook and Chook in Victoria Parade Suva without having a proper license, failing to display the license and restaurant regulations in a public place on the premises.
It is also alleged that Tuisolia disobeyed lawful orders from two Health Inspectors who have inspected his restaurant and allegedly informed him that the premises was in breach of certain rules and regulations.
It is also alleged that Tuisolia gave false information to a Public Official.
The case has been adjourned to the 2nd of February for mention.
