The Former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Airports Fiji Limited, Ratu Sakiusa Tuisolia appeared before High Court Judge Justice Daniel Goundar this morning facing 22 counts of abuse of office and 22 counts of false pretence.

Tuisolia's Lawyer, Graham Leung told Justice Goundar that his client's case is now a constitutional matter as the Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption does not have the powers to charge and prosecute people.

He stressed in Court that FICAC is established under promulgation and is illegal as only Parliament can enact laws under the 1997 Constitution.

Justice Goundar has given Leung time until January 16th next year to file written submissions on the matter and FICAC has been given time until the 4th of February next year to respond to the submissions.

The matter will be argued in the High Court on the 6th of February next year.
