Some former national 7s reps are trying to reclaim their spot in the 7s team after putting up brilliant performances for their respective teams at the Fiji Bitter Marist 7s.
Aisake Katonibau, Leone Nakarawa and Sevuloni Lutu played well for Army Green while Waqabaca Kotobalavu and Josaia Lotawa of Navy are two players vying for the trip to Hong Kong and Japan as well.
For the Police team, Waisale Dau and Peni Gaunimeke are trying to catch the selectors eyes after guiding Police to two brilliant wins.
Defending Champs Army Green look set to retain their title after winning all their pool games.
Army Green captain Dale Tonawai said they will not underestimate any team.
Meanwhile some unknown sides have stamped their mark on the first day of the Fiji Bitter Marist 7s after winning their first two games.
These teams include Gonetoga from Rewa, Waiqanake, Coast Epic Dolphins and West Field Saunaka which include Pio Tuwai.
Freshet Navy, Red Rock one, Uprising and Vuda Blues have also recorded two wins from their pool games.
Teams which have won their first two games have qualified for the elimination round.
Later this afternoon the Fiji Babarians, Wardens Gold, Samurai Baracudas and Ratu Filise will play their first game.
Looking at the games played so far, Navy thrashed Kaova Blues 45-0 and Koro 35-12, Uprising beat Nodrai Sharks 31-0 and Muaivuso 26-7, Dritabua drew 12-all with Savura and Nawaka, Vatuvure beat Muaivuso 14-12, Waiqanake defeated Marist Blue 17-12, Warden Green thrashed Liku Babas 21-0, Costal Epic Dolphins hammered Sukunaivalu young Boys 24-0 and Northern Surburbs 24-5, Koro beat Namosi Steelers 10-0, Savura beat Dravuni Young Boys 17-12, Vuda beat Marist 12 7, Redrock beat Liku Babas 38-0, West Field Saunaka beat Marist blue 24-0, and Police beat Sukunaivalu young boys 33-0.
