Former National 7s Captain Tuidriva Bainivalu is expected to lead the Lautoka 15s rugby team in this week’s Farebrother Sullivan Trophy challenge against holders Tailevu.

Bainivalu will also have the support of veterans Sikeli Nasau, Ifereimi Naruma, Vili Satala Junior and Mesake Berenaliva in the starting line-up.

Although National 15s rep Ifereimi Rawaqa was expected to be part of the team, it has been confirmed that he has left for Japan due to club commitments.

The Maroons have been training for the past two weeks as they will try and dethrone a Tailevu outfit which has beaten rugby giants Nadroga, Suva, Naitasiri and Nadi to keep the prestigious cup.

The last time the two sides met in the Farebrother challenge was in 2003 where Tailevu beat Lautoka who were the holders at the time.

The Tailevu/Lautoka rugby match will kick-off at 3pm Saturday and a live commentary can be heard on our sister station Viti FM.
