Jai Narayan College Form six student, 18-year-old Sebastian Singh has settled for silver at the New Zealand Amateur Boxing Championship.

Competing in 64kg category Singh said he is really proud to have beaten New Zealand Champion and Oceania gold medalist Reuben Webster in the championship.
 
Singh said he lost by one point to his opponent former Australian Golden Gloves Champion and New Zealand Champion Shaldon Wally in the final.

He added taking part in New Zealand was a learning experience.


Meanwhile, his trainer Napoliano Taumoe-Peau said even though Singh settled for silver he was happy with the way he boxed.

Singh is the son of boxing trainer Gyan Singh and began his career when he was 14-years-old and has fought 13 fights.
