Police are now awaiting the medical report of the three foreign fishermen who are admitted in critical condition at the Suva Private Hospital after they were allegedly stabbed by three other crew members early this morning.

Assistant Police Spokesperson, Corporal Suliano Tevita said further action will be taken once they get the medical report and after they have taken the statements of the victims.

The three fishermen who are in police custody are alleged to have been drunk during the incident and had just returned from a drinking party. An argument erupted which led to the alleged stabbing.

Meanwhile, police are now questioning a 40 year old woman with the assistance of an interpreter for allegedly assaulting a Traffic Police Officer in Suva city yesterday.

Charges are expected to be laid this afternoon.

The woman with her husband had allegedly parked their vehicle at a no parking zone and when the traffic officer questioned them, an argument broke out. The traffic officer was then allegedly punched and slapped in the process by the woman.
