Police are trying to arrange for an interpreter to interview two foreign nationals now in custody for allegedly being involved in drugs and other cases.

Director CID Waisea Vakamocea said a 46 year old Mexican woman and 41 year old Columbian man were arrested in two different incidents yesterday.

He said police are finding it difficult to question the Mexican woman who was found with more than 2 kilograms of cocaine after a raid at a hotel in Nadi yesterday as she does not understand English.

The woman arrived in the country on Tuesday. He said they are arranging to send the drugs to Australia for analysis as it cannot be done at the Koronivia Research Station. Police are also trying to establish how the drugs were brought into the country.

Vakamocea also confirms that the Columbian man was taken into custody for some other criminal activities, however, he refused to divulge more information on the matter.
