Defending Scotland 7s champions New Zealand will not be affected by the absence of DJ Forbes according to Gordon Tietjens.

The world's best 7s coach said that it was a challenge to select his team as the World Cup is just around the corner.

Tiejtens added that experienced players like Tim Mickleson, Tomasi Cama Junior, Lote Raikabula and Kurt Baker will add more depth to the side.

The All Blacks 7s is chasing their fourth Scotland 7s title.

Meanwhile, the last time Fiji won in Scotland was in 2009 where we pipped South Africa 20-19.

Fiji will take on Spain at 9.52pm Saturday.

We then take on Argentina at 12.58am Sunday and our last pool match is against Australia at 5.15am Sunday.

The Cup quarters start at 10.58pm Sunday, Cup semis kick off at 2.58am Monday and the final will get underway at 5.45am Monday.
