New Zealand Sevens captain DJ Forbes and playmaker Tomasi Cama have been ruled out of the USA Sevens.

Forbes has been diagnosed with an injury to his left foot which needs rest if he has to play at the World Cup in Dubai, and experienced players, Tomasi Cama has been ruled out with a knee injury while Edwin Cocker is ruled out for at least six weeks.

Nafi Tuitavake was also being monitored after suffering an ankle injury but has been passed fit to travel and compete.

Nigel Hunt has been recalled to the squad which still has the likes of Zar Lawrence, Lote Raikabula and Viliame Waqaseduadua.

Meanwhile, the Digicel Fiji Sevens team also leaves in the next
half-an-hour for San Diego.

Coach Iliesa Tanivula has made only one change with Rupeni Nasiga out injured and has been replaced by Pio Tuwai.

Fiji's first pool game is against Wales at 5:20am on Sunday.
