Police in Moala in Lau believe that the foot found on the island at the weekend could be that of a woman and could probably be from a passenger on the MV Princess Ashika which sank in Tonga or of a tsunami vistim from Samoa.
The police officer said the foot, from knee to the ankle is just bones but it is intact from the ankle to the toe-nails and the brand of the shoes is "Brook" and is white in colour.
Police are continuing their investigation into the matter.
