It was all smiles on the faces of people in Ba and Nadi as they received much needed food rations from a New Zealand based radio station, Radio Apna.
People of Ba and Nadi are lining up to receive the food rations which include basic food items that will last for three weeks.
Speaking from Vutuni, Ba, resident Khalid Ali said they are grateful to the donors as they have gone through a lot of hardships.
Ravendra Kumar of Kerebula, Nadi, said it was a timely assistance.
Radio Apna raised $212,000 through a radio appeal and will be distributing a total of 2,600 food packs in Nadi, Ba and Sigatoka.
General Manager Mohammed Shaiyaz said they will be distributing the food packs in Sigatoka tomorrow.
