For the first time ever a National Food and Nutrition policy for Schools has been implemented in schools this year after Education Minister Filipe Bole launched it this afternoon.

The Policy launched in conjunction with the Health Ministry was a result of a survey conducted in schools around the country where it was found that 60% of students surveyed were below the required levels for good health.

Susan Parkinson, a well known nutritionist and partner in the research says such a policy is a good way to combat nutritional diseases among children in schools.
