The Director Immigration is calling on the members of the public to follow proper procedures when trying to obtain Visas and Passports.
Commander Villiame Naupoto, said that people should go to the respective Embassies themselves as with todays technology, people can easily photocopy and produce fake visas.
His comments comes after a 26 year old Samabula man was arrested by police for allegedly producing fake visas and selling it to members of the public for more than $100,000.
The man who is unemployed was arrested after he sold a fake visa to a man of Suva. The man then produced the visa at the Nadi Airport where Immigration officials ascertained that the visa was fake.
Upon questioning the man, police raided the suspect's house in Samabula and confiscated 5 fake Australian and New Zealand visas and more than 30 passports.
The CID team also confiscated some money from his house.
It is further alleged that the suspect sold a number of fake visas to members of the public who are yet to be identified by police.
