Follow My Lead: Ah Koy
Those are the words of Fiji's Ambassador to China Sir James Ah Koy who said if all Fiji's Ambassadors do the same thing he is doing in marketing Fiji overseas, the country's economic problems will be solved.
Ah Koy is in the country to finalize the $230 million soft loan from China for low cost housing and rural infrastructure. Ah Koy also praised Interim Prime Minister Commodore Frank Bainimarama for being supportive.
Meanwhile, ousted Prime Minister Laisenia Qarase said such loan should be approved by parliament and also alleged that the interim administration is trying to win the hearts of the people so that they support the People's Charter and warned the Chinese government to be careful in dealing with a regime which is illegal.
Former interim Finance Minister Mahendra Chaudhry said the soft loan from China did not comply with the Financial Management Act.
