Waratahs head coach Michael Foley has stood down from his position and is likely to join the Western Force within days.

Less than 24 hours after NSW chairman Ed Zemancheff quit his role, Foley tendered his resignation this morning after a turbulent season at the helm of the Waratahs.

The Waratahs finished the Super 15 season with four wins and 12 losses in their worst season.
