Two men who attempted to rob a pay clerk of a construction company in Nasese are hospitalised after sustaining injuries during their arrest.

Divisional Crime Officer Southern, ASP Apisalome Tuiwakaya has confirmed that the two who are in their early 30's attempted to rob the pay run of Raghuan Construction of more than $15,000 yesterday afternoon.

Police were tipped off about the robbery and CID officers were awaiting the robbers near the company. The two were arrested when they were threatening the clerk with a cane knife and other items.

They are expected to be taken to court on Monday.
