The hotel industry should now change its mindset and try to use locally produced items.
Those are the words of the newly appointed Governor of the Reserve Bank of Fiji Sada Reddy who said the huge import bill for years is also due to the hotel industry continuously focusing on imported items to serve guests.
Reddy said this needs to change now.
Reddy said even the people living in the rural areas have started buying imported items, and they need to become self-sufficient.
