Tourism Fiji is now focusing on getting more consultants into the country in order to market the country as a tourist hot spot.
This is after a successful tour of the country by 55 Fiji Matai specialists from New Zealand who are travel consultants and wholesalers.
Tourism Fiji Chairman Patrick Wong said the basis of such a process is to get people to know how pristine the local environment is.
Wong added that with New Zealand being Fiji’s second major source market, visitor arrivals are expected to increase.
As part of an exchange program, a group led by Laisa Vulakoro and Seru Serevi showcased Fijian culture and dancing while the 55 matais were hosted in various hotels around the country.
