The Flying Fijian 15's rugby team will struggle to hold their own in the forwards battle on their Europe Tour next month.

Those are the views of IRB coaches educator, Frank Boivert ahead of the 3 match tour.

Boivert said in order to provide the attacking platform, Fiji needs a solid scrum and this is where the choice of Deacon Manu and Campese Maa'afu is crucial as they have proved they can hold their own and their overseas experience is needed.

But he added that the question remains whether that is enough after Manu struggled in his outing last week.

Boivert added that is very likely that the French scrum is going to dismantle the Fiji scrum and that Italy with their formidable props will destroy them too while Wales did hurt Fiji very badly last time and so a running game could prove the wrong style for Fiji if the scrum does not perform.

Fiji's opening game is against France on the 14th of next month.
