“It is a big task but we have prepared not to disappoint you.”

That was the message from the Flying Fijians when they greeted their supporters in Auckland Airport yesterday afternoon.

Manager, Pio Bosco Tikoisuva spoke on behalf of the team and he assured those who were at the Airport that his boys were not in New Zealand to make up the numbers in the Rugby World Cup.

The 2011 Rugby World Cup will go down as one of the memorable event in the life of Rupeni Nasiga.

It is his first assignment away from his wife after they tied the knot this month and for Nasiga it is not easy.

He has to put his honeymoon on hold knowing that this is a lifetime chance as he answers the call of duty for the nation in the Rugby World Cup.

Nasiga plays for the champion Nadroga provincial side and also is a former national 7's rep but he knows the World Cup stage is far bigger than any of his past outing.

In his past outing he has been in the starting position at lock with Sekonaia Kalou in the game against the All Blacks and he partner Wame Lewaravu in the Test series against Tonga.

Fiji will play against Namibia next Saturday at 3.30pm in their opening World Cup pool game.

You can catch the exclusive live radio commentary of the match on Viti FM with the new voice of rugby, Malakai Veisamasama and 2007 World Cup coach, Ilivasi Tabua.
