The FMF Flying Fijians 15’s rugby team has suffered a set back ahead of their first game in the Rugby World Cup after number 1 jumper and lock forward Ifereimi Rawaqa was ruled out due to injury.
Speaking to Village Sports from their Moissac based hotel, Coach Ilivasi Tabua said while they will miss the experience of Rawaqa in the line-outs they have already mapped out their plan against Japan.
Tabua added that the decision to play Kameli Ratuvou at full-back ahead of Norman Ligairi has been made after looking at what they can offer in attack and defense.
The Fiji side to face Japan in the forwards will be Graham Dewes, Sunia Koto, Hendry Qiodravu, Wame Lewaravu, Kele Leawere, Semisi Naevo, Akapusi Qera and Sisa Koyaimaibole.
The back-line at half-back will be Captain Mosese Rauluni, Nicky Little, Isoa Neivua, Seremaia Bai, Seru Rabeni, Filimoni Delasau and Kameli Ratuvou.
Fiji will take on Japan at 4am this Thursday.
