Flying Fijians selectors likely to opt for 16 forwards, 14 backs
It is likely that the selectors will opt for 16 forwards and 14 backs and at the moment they are closely looking at players for the hooker position, loose-forward, number 8 and the wings while the other spot in the team looks to be already booked by players who looked impressive at the trials last night.
Looking at the likely 30 man member team to be announced this evening, at loose-head prop may be Graham Dewes and Alefoso Yalayalatabua.
The hookers are Sunia Koto with the selectors trying to name either Bill Gadolo or Vereniki Sauturaga.
France based duo Hendry Qiodravu and Jone Railomo are the expected tight heads.
At locks Ifereimi Rawaqa, Kele Leawere and Isoa Domolailai look good to book their spot with the loose forwards Aca Ratuva, Semisi Naevo, Netani Talei while Apolosi Satala, Rupeni Nasiga and Dale Tonawai are fighting it out for the other spot.
Number 8 will be interesting with Sisa Koyamaibole as the leading candidates while Alifereti Doviverata, Tomasi Soqeta and Peni Tokakece are also fighting for the position.
The back-line looks easily confirmed with Mosese Rauluni and Jone Daunivucu as half-back, Nicky Little ear-marked for his 3rd World Cup trip at fly-half, the inside centre will see Seremaia Bai, Seru Rabeni while the out-side centres are expected to be Kameli Ratuvou and Maleli Kunavore.
There will be five wingers who are fighting for the four spots in the wings Sireli Bobo, Filimoni Delasau, Mosese Luveitasau, Filomoni Bolavucu and Isoa Neivua.
Norman Ligairi and Dan Rawaqa are the top contenders for the full-back spot.
The FMF Flying Fijians 15's rugby team will be announced at 6 o’clock tonight at the Lali Room in the Holiday Inn.
