With one more sleep to go for the Vodafone Flying Fijians to run out at Twickenham Stadium, Coach John McKee is confident they are ready to do something special in the Rugby World Cup.
McKee says the Fijian players have a fierce pride in representing their country which is still very much based on the vanua and their family‑based values.
He says they have been working a lot on their set plays and breakdown around the ruck areas.
After naming his 23 man squad to take on England, McKee says the World Cup campaign is what most of the players have been looking forward to.
Meanwhile Captain Akapusi Qera is happy with the lineup that has been named and is ready to lead the team.
Qera who played with England number eight Ben Morgan and winger Jonny May says they know most of the English players are looking forward to meet them.
Qera is also calling on all Fijians to support the team tomorrow morning.
England has won all the five test matches played against Fiji.
In 1988 Fiji lost to England 12-25 in Suva, in 1989 England beat Fiji in Twickenham 58-23, in 1991, England won in Suva by 28-12, England then beat Fiji 45-24 in Twickenham and the last time they met was in 2012 where England won 54-12.
Looking at the players who are going head to head, the Anthony Watson and Nemani Nadolo face off will be special, but this game hinges on matters in the scrum with Dan Cole facing Campese Ma’afu.
On paper, this feels like a mismatch and if Cole can convince referee Jaco Peyper early, he has Ma’afu on the ropes then the penalties will flow, allowing England to dictate territory.
Fiji will take on England in the Opening Rugby World Cup match at 7am tomorrow.
The opening ceremony starts at 6am and ends at 6.20am.
There will be allocated space around the stadium for the two teams to have their warm-up before the big match.
